Enjoy Quick Access to Ames Center
With an ideal location between Interstate 35E and Interstate 35W, the BEST WESTERN PREMIER Nicollet Inn is easily accessible while placing guests just a short distance from a variety of ways to experience the Twin Cities area’s arts and culture. Our Burnsville, MN hotel is just a five-minute drive from the Ames Center and a year-round calendar of performances and other events. From our hotel, just take Nicollet Avenue north directly to the venue.
Formerly known as the Burnsville Performing Arts Center, the Ames Center boasts two theatres – a 1,014-seat main room and the more intimate, 150-seat Black Box Theatre. The striking, ultra-modern architecture of the facility compliments performances of resident companies like the Twin Cities Ballet of Minnesota, the Dakota Valley Symphony, and the Chameleon Theatre Circle. The theatre has played host to productions of well-known shows like Beauty & the Beast and special events like the Bravo! National Dance & Talent Competition.
With a yearly total of eight rotating exhibits, Ames Center also features a 2,000 square foot art gallery. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, with limited hours on weekends. Even better, there is no cost for admission for most of the gallery's showings. During your visit, make sure to check the Ames Center calendar for information on the gallery’s current displays as well as performances in the main theatre and the Black Box Theatre.
