Visiting Twin Cities

Minnesota’s summer vacation ends with The Great Minnesota Get Together in Saint Paul. The 2013 Minnesota State Fair marks the end of vacation fun with rides, games, exhibits and Grandstand entertainment. No worries, the fun continues in the Twin Cities and gateway communities with fresh fall and winter events and entertainment.

The community of Eagan, south of the Twin Cities, is home to Holz Farm, offering visitors a step back to rural life. Events at the farm include 2013 Lone Oak Days September 21st and 22nd – ideal for a family outing. Pony rides, hayrides, food and entertainment make for a great day in Eagan. Return to Holz Farm in December for the Old Fashioned Holiday Celebration.

Cheer on the Minnesota Twins at the last of the 2013 season home games at Target Field, west of the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis. Just south of Target Field, the MetroDome is hosting Minnesota Vikings home games. All too soon, October arrives and the NBA Minnesota Timberwolves heat up the hardwood on court at the Target Center.

Hockey fans head east 10 miles to the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul for the excitement of NHL Minnesota Wild Hockey on their home ice. The multi-purpose Xcel Center is conveniently located near the Roy Wilkins Auditorium and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, adding excitement and life to downtown Saint Paul.

Running enthusiasts set their marks on the 2013 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Sunday, October 6th. Boasted to be the most beautiful urban marathon in America, the Twin Cities Marathon course takes runners from the start neat Mall of America Filed in downtown Minneapolis along parkways, lakes, rivers, and past thousands of cheering fans. The marathon finish is at the State Capitol in Saint Paul.
