Settled along the Mississippi River, Monticello is a Minnesota town found in the central part of the state, just northwest of the Twin Cities. Visitors are offered plenty of cultural centers and outdoor recreation. Just don't miss annual celebrations like Riverfest, or the beautiful trumpeter swans at Swan Park.

Drive in from Coon Rapids for some sunshine at Montissippi County Park, or Ellison Park set along the Mighty Mississippi. You can also head to Lake Maria State Park for hiking, horseback riding and backpacking through 1,500 acres of Minnesota wilderness. Keep an eye out for wildlife, or cast out from the Maria Lake fishing pier.
