The Wild in the West
Each winter, the Land of 10,000 Lakes becomes the Land of 10,000 Rinks. So naturally, Minnesotans love their ice hockey – a staple sport in the Midwest.
As such, Minnesota has a longstanding history of professional hockey. After the departure of the Minnesota North Stars, the state quickly made the move to establish the current NHL team – the Minnesota Wild – in 1997.
Donning a unique combination of red, forest green, gold, wheat, and white, the Wild have become fan-favorites throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped hockey fans from nearby Minneapolis, Bloomington, and Oakdale from making the short journey to cheer on their favorite team. You, too, are invited to witness the action.
Pack your Wild colors and join Nordy, the official team mascot, and help the Wild make a run at the NHL's Western Conference playoffs this fall.
