Cathedral of Saint Paul

The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul are home to many notable and historical buildings. One such building is the Cathedral of Saint Paul, National Shrine of the Apostle Paul.
This beautiful, historical Roman Catholic cathedral was built on Cathedral Hill in 1915, under the direction of Archbishop John Ireland. It is the fourth cathedral built on the site. It is known to be one of America's most distinctive cathedrals.
At 186 feet tall, the cathedral is America's fourth tallest cathedral and the third largest completed church in America. The cathedral was designed by Emmanuel Louis Masqueray, a French Beaux-Arts architect features a 76-foot high copper-clad dome, American Travertine walls, marble columns, twenty-four stained glass windows, four evangelists, a bronze baldachin of Saint Paul and six chapels.
